Submission Guidelines & Process

Welcome to the submission hub for the CADCAM Concept Cars Competition. Please read the guidelines below carefully before preparing your students' entries for submission.

How Submissions Work

To keep your files secure and prevent cross-school access, all submissions are managed through dedicated Google Drive folders assigned to each registered institution.

1. Register Your Institution

   Fill out the Teacher Registration Form to secure your school’s entry for this year’s competition.

2. Receive Your Private Upload Link

   Once registered, the lead teacher will receive an email containing a unique, private Google Drive upload link for your school.

3. Upload Your Entries

   Upload your students' Autodesk Fusion files and design documentation directly into your school’s dedicated folder before the final deadline.

Submission Requirements

To ensure the judging panel can open and review every entry smoothly, all submissions must follow these specifications:

1. Required Software & Formats

• Software: All 3D models must be created using Autodesk Fusion (.f3d or .f3z export formats).

• Presentation & Documentation: High-resolution .pdf format.

• Renderings & Images: High-quality .png or .jpeg.

2. File Naming Rules

All files must strictly follow this naming format:

[Institution Name]_[Student First Name][Last Initial]

• Standard Example: RochdaleCollege_JohnS.f3d

• Presentation Board Example: RochdaleCollege_JohnS_Board.pdf

Duplicate Name Rule: If multiple students share the exact same first name and last initial (e.g., two students named John Smith), append a number to differentiate them:

• RochdaleCollege_JohnS1.f3d

• RochdaleCollege_JohnS2.f3d

3. Multiple Files Per Student

If a student is submitting multiple files (e.g., an Autodesk Fusion file, a presentation board, and render images):

• Create a single subfolder inside your school's Google Drive space named with the student's name format (e.g., RochdaleCollege_JohnS/).

• Place all of that student's relevant files inside their folder.

Deadlines & Support

• Submission Deadline: [Insert Final Date] at 17:00 GMT

• Access Control: Folder upload access will be locked automatically at the deadline. Late submissions will not be eligible for judging.

• Technical Support: If your school's IT network blocks Google Drive access or you experience issues exporting .f3d / .f3z files, please contact us at [Insert Email Address] ahead of the deadline.
